NVIDIA and Nokia Join Forces to Revolutionize Telecommunications with AI-Native 6G Solutions

NVIDIA and Nokia Forge Strategic Partnership to Pioneer AI-Driven 6G Platform, Boosting U.S. Leadership in Telecommunications

October 28, 2025 | Washington, D.C. — At the GPU Technology Conference (GTC), NVIDIA and Nokia shared news of a new plan. They join to build AI-based mobile networks. NVIDIA invests $1 billion in Nokia. This plan moves telecom from 5G to 6G and helps the U.S. lead in tech.

Accelerating AI-Native 6G Networks

NVIDIA links its AI radio tools with Nokia’s network work. The teams bring NVIDIA’s AI radio products into Nokia’s mix. This shift lets service providers add AI smart 5G-Advanced networks and plan for 6G ones. NVIDIA brings the NVIDIA Arc Aerial RAN Computer Pro (ARC-Pro). This computer is set for 6G work. It joins connection, computing, and sensing in one unit.

Nokia fits the ARC-Pro into its network set. The move builds new base stations and updates current ones. Mobile operators can change from old RAN setups to AI-based setups.

Driving Telecom Change

Jensen Huang, head of NVIDIA, said, "Using AI in radio will change telecom. This shift gives the U.S. a strong lead in network tech." He points to AI work that builds smart networks which adjust to new demands.

Nokia chief Justin Hotard said, "The next step in telecom is not just a jump from 5G to 6G. We are crafting a new network that uses AI power. Our work with NVIDIA will speed up this change and put a smart network in every pocket." He pointed to work with Dell Technologies and T-Mobile U.S. as they test these new ideas.

T-Mobile U.S. to Help with 6G Development

T-Mobile U.S. joins the work. In 2026, T-Mobile will test these AI radio networks out in the field. The tests will check how well the networks work for both people and companies. T-Mobile’s tech chief said, "Working with Nokia and NVIDIA helps shape the future of our connections. Our tests will build the network that drives the 6G era."

Preparing for Rapid Growth in Mobile AI Traffic

The teams see more AI work on mobile phones every day. Many ChatGPT users, for example, use mobile devices. AI radio networks help meet the strong demand for mobile AI. With AI systems from Nokia and NVIDIA, mobile operators can make networks work better and faster. These systems serve billions of devices—from drones and driverless cars to robots and AR/VR glasses. They tie sensing and communication together in one 6G package.

Dell Technologies Powers AI-RAN Infrastructure

Dell backs the work with its PowerEdge servers. These servers grow with demand and move smoothly from 5G to 6G. Michael Dell said, "This work with Nokia and NVIDIA turns new ideas into reality. Operators who update now can run a grid that handles AI work right at its start."

Future-Proofed, Software-Defined AI Networking

Nokia and NVIDIA join AI tasks with radio work through flexible software. Nokia builds a system called anyRAN. Its AirScale baseband design lets networks adjust as needs change with the cloud.

The teams also join forces on AI networking tools. They connect Nokia’s SR Linux software with NVIDIA’s Spectrum-X Ethernet system. They test Nokia’s optical tech to boost AI network work.
